Who would have thought that something as simple as a nice card stock with a pretty design (or two) could be such a major wedding expense? Of course, you do want to give people directions and get them there in style, but this doesn’t mean spending $659 buckaroos, which according to the Wedding Association of America is average price a bride spends on her invites! With every thing costing an arm and a leg (and in some cases both legs) for a wedding, a Do-It-Yourself invite is a great way to express your creativity and save some money for your wedding. Not crafty? No problem, check out these inspiring bridal invites to be quickly on your way to passing along your wedding day info in style.
1. Wedding Bee: Mrs. Bell Pepper of Wedding Bee created this amazing invitation that looks like something you would buy in a store. Mrs. Pepper put 2-3 hours into these eggplant-colored invites, which cost her $300 for 125 — quite the savings, but as she noted “Patience is definitely required.” Are you up for the challenge?
2. Design Betty: For those of us who don’t have time to design, cut and paste, Design Betty allows you to pick a template, write in information about your wedding and print them out. The best news? Design Betty has many free, yes free templates where all you have to do is pay for the costs of printing.

3. Eco-Vintage Weddings: Yet, another jaw-dropping DIY invite, these gorgeous Vintage-inspired invites were created by engaged couple, Sara and Jordon. Her lengthy, yet informative post literally takes you through every single step of the process. From designing the invite in Photo shop and Fireworks to how they created a matted look to what they wrote on their cards. On top of all that, they created a song requested card and the RSVP card — simply stunning. The project ended up costing $3.74 per card (which also included the price of postage stamps).
